Pediatric-Health Advocacy

I have a passion for pediatric healthcare, and it is my mission to help children feel more comfortable during routine visits and eliminate their fear of health-related appointments!

Dance Marathon

Dance Marathon is a student-led, year-round philanthropic movement to raise critical funds for our local Children's Miracle Network hospital. Our hospital, Our Lady of the Lake, provides critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services for children and their families.

LSU hosts an on-campus event every Spring, where participants dance and participate in various activities for 22 hours straight in hopes of raising as much money as possible!

MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION

Make A Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps to fulfill the wishes of children with a critical illness between the ages of 2 to 18 years old.

Every year, my sorority partners with Make A Wish to help raise money. We always get to sponsor a "Wish kid" and have an event to help their wish come true!

THE SOUTHDOWNS SCHOOL

The Southdowns School is a public elementary school that caters to students with and without disabilities. The majority of the students I worked with were minorities, which made my time volunteering there even more essential. Not many schools in the Baton Rouge area provide services like this one, so parents are extremely grateful to be able to send their kids to a school that will guarantee proper education and care.

My time spent at this school was short but meaningful. I made personal connections with all the students and had my first hands-on experience working with disabled students.

Below is a PDF of my service reflection at the Southdowns School.

LeadAbroad is a purpose-driven organization that is focused on leading transformative experiences abroad for college students. I traveled with LeadAbroad to Cape Town, South Africa in Summer 2021, and had the pleasure to work with The Amy Foundation on my program.

The Amy Foundation is a non-profit organization, in the Western Cape - South Africa, that offers programs that develop and empower children to young adults (5-35 years old), in challenged and vulnerable communities.

LIVE2SERVE

Live2Serve is a non-profit that provides after-school tutoring and activities for children in the Baton Rouge Community.

This was the first service organization I got involved with in college my freshman year. Every Wednesday evening, a group of college students would go spend a few hours with the kids at the local YMCA.

The picture to the right is the Live2Serve logo from their Facebook page.

GARDERE SCHOOL COMMUNITY SOCCER TEAM

The Gardere Community Christian School is a non-profit organization that strives to unite families in order to build a strong community.

At the Gardere Community school, I had the privilege of working with one of my professors as an assistant soccer coach. I would go help out during their practices after school. The majority of the students on the team were all Hispanic and only spoke Spanish. Because of the language barrier, I was completely out of my comfort zone but still was able to make connections with all the students on the team!

The picture to the left is from the school's website.
